Our Story
A pearl is a hard object produced within the soft tissue of an oyster when an irritating object becomes trapped within its covering pleats. Out of great difficulty comes an object of beauty.
So was the birth of the New Covenant Church of God and Healing Hearts Ministries. God burdened Pastor Tapper’s heart to open the doors of a sanctuary, where men and women could come in safety and worship freely. New Covenant Church was started in 1999 in a Bayside, Queens home with a few believers who hungered and thirsted for real truth. God prospered the small congregation to grow and move into its new church building at 10428 Astoria Blvd. in East Elmhurst Queens, where we worship every Sunday morning and Tuesday evening.
Most first-time visitors express the feeling of being in a family environment and sense a safe place to worship.
The Word of God taught at New Covenant Church is emancipating and empowering.
